Metis EDS Gamma planetary desktop scanner integrates a V-table design, supported by sophisticated software tools, that allows operators to gently hold the originals in any possible position / at any angle. The V-table design also allows for scanning of originals even larger than A1 format and up to 15 cm thick. With the Metis EDS Gamma book scanner it is also possible to customize scan area size and optical resolution. Furthermore, thanks to the Metis exclusive “shape recognition” and “curvature correction” technology integrated into the EDS software, document shape is detected in real time and the captured digital image is automatically deskewed in a fraction of a second. In addition, Metis EDS software can recognize the operator’s fingers and automatically remove them from the image. Last but not least, the Metis EDS Gamma planetary book scanner features an integrated EDS lighting system which delivers unique capabilities, such as (but not limited to): acquiring 3D images, maximizing uniformity, minimizing reflections, and ensuring proper lighting tailored to scanning of different kinds of originals.
