iGuana successfully delivers a digital archiving and scanning solution for the Office of the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

The national archive of the Presidential Palace (ARG) in Kabul aims to protect the historical and cultural memory of Afghanistan and offer better service, facilities and access for local & foreign researchers and the general public. Our team was very excited to have been selected and to take part in the Presidential Archive’s effort to create a modern digital archive, to establish a link between past and future generations, and to preserve Afghanistan’s cultural and historical documentary sources.

For this project iGuana delivered and installed state-of-the-art METIS EDS GAMMA planetary scanner for the Presidential Palace’s Archive. This unique professional scanner was specifically developed for scanning & digitization of cultural heritage. It offers superior, archival-grade image quality, ergonomics, ease of use and high productivity in a unique integrated solution for the archives of the Office of the President. iGuana worked on-site at the Presidential Palace in Kabul to install this cutting-edge scanning equipment and provide the Presidential Archive team with all the expert advice, consulting and professional training necessary to scan and digitize various kinds of archive materials in accordance with the highest standards for archive digitization.

Our team was delighted to offer our expertise in digitization of cultural heritage, documents & archives, to provide premier hardware & assistance to the local archive team, and to contribute to their efforts to preserve Afghanistan’s historical and cultural past.
